The lawsuit, filed in Delaware Pa., on Tuesday, seeks a judgment that woulde bar the city from acquiringb land in Tinicum Township for the expansion withouf first seeking the consent of county and township The lawsuit says that the acquisition of land in the where a portion ofthe city-owned airport is would displace 3,300 employeezs and 80 businesses in Delaware County and 300 residentw in 72 homes in Tinicum Township. The suit also says that tax revenud from the county and Interboro School Districg would benegatively impacted, as well as air quality.
“Bg asking for this declamatoryjudgmentg action, we are saying that Philadelphiaw must negotiate with the officials of Tinicum and Delaware and consider the residents they represent, when they propose expanding the airport in our said Michael Messina, presidentt of the Tinicum Township “The FAA and the city can no longerr run roughshod over Tinicum when it comeas to airport operations that have a negative impacg on our residents.
