A newlyy formed corporation bought Coshocton, Ohio-based and earlier this year and will add the jobs over the next two yearsw to its current workforceof 210. The company is now modifyinh its plant to make rubber floor mats for theautomotivre industry. Additionally, said Monday it will build a 90,000-square-fooy injection molding and assembly plant ona 25-acre parcel of land in the Jim Hamiltoj Industrial Park in LaGrange. The automotive components plant will openin mid-20078 and employ 75 people.
DaeLim USA is a division of , an Illinois-based global manufacturer that has 13 othe divisionsin Georgia. DaeLijm USA's new facility will bring ITW's employment in Georgi up to nearly 700. DaeLim USA and Pretty Products join as automotivee suppliers recently reporting locations in west Hyundai Mobis in August said it willspend $60 by 2010 to in West Ga., that will create 600 jobs. The Kia facility, its firsrt in the United States, is slated to begin production in 2009 andproducew 300,000 vehicles a year.

The UAW Local 249 posted the informatioh in a newsletter on its Web Local 249 Vice Presidentg Bobby Wyse confirmed Monda that the informationis accurate. The production stoppage comes a week before an alreadyyscheduled one-week summer break for the entire plantr starting June 29, a Local 249 spokeswoman said. The plan t also is scheduled for a summer break durin g the weekof Aug. 17. Sales of Ford F-serie trucks were 33,381 in May, up 16 percent from 28,757 in April but down 22.3 percentr from 42,973 in May 2008. UAW Local 249 said the slightf increasein month-to-month sales enabled Ford (NYSE: F) to cancel the schedulede down week on June 22 at its F-1509 truck plant in Dearborn, Mich.
, but the down week was left intacft at the Kansas City Assemblu Plant. “This is partiallyg due to depleted funds forthe state’ds Division of Unemployment in Michigan, makinb down weeks at less of an option,” the Localo 249 said in the newsletter. A year ago, Ford moves about 800 workers from a second shify onthe F-150 side of the Kansas City plangt to a third shift on the SUV side. The employeew were moved back tothe F-150 side on Jan. 12. Ford Escaper sales in May reached up 20.6 percent from 13,596 in Aprilp but down 7.2 percent from 17,667 in May 2008. The Kansaas City Assembly Plant also producews the Mercury Mariner and hybrid versionx of the Ford Escape andMercury Mariner. Combined salew of hybrid versions of theFord Fusion, Mercury Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner reached 3,9067 in May, a new company The old sales record of 3,4209 hybrid vehicles was set in April 2006.

The resignations of Gary Reynolds and Janicwe Marquis come about two weeks before councilorssfor Metro, of which MERC is a subsidiary, plan to vote on a measurse that would give the council more control over MERC’s generakl manager. The move could ostensibly lead to the firiny of MERC General ManagerDavid who’s under fire from President David Bragdon. Reynold and Marquis both opposethe Reynolds, president of the Portland accountinhg firm Perkins & Co., mentioned the building problems between Metro and MERC in his resignatiomn letter. “During the economic my attention needs to be focused on our cliente atPerkins & Co.
,” Reynolds wrote in his letterr to Bragdon. “That said, I am disappointeds in the recent breakdown in the working relationship betweehn the Metro Council andthe , and believe it couls have been handled Marquis, a commercial real estat broker and the commission’sz vice chair, didn’t mention the upcomingg proposal in her letter to Bragdon, but resignedc two years before her term was set to end. In a lettef to Portland city commissioners earlierthis month, Marquia and commission member Ray Leart urged the council to help delat Metro’s vote on the MERC oversighr matter.
Leary, Marquis, Reynolds and three of the othed four remaining MERC commission also sent Bragdon a lettebacking Woolson.
