Yarmuth, Guthrie form Congressional Bourbon Caucus - Business First of Louisville:

Yarmuth, Kentucky’s Third Districrt representative, and Guthrie, the state’s Seconc District representative, formed the bipartisan caucus to organizre a group ofrepresentatives “dedicated to maintaining and strengthening the bourboh industry in the Unites States and educating other members on the legislative and regulatoryy issues impacting the industry,” the representativesa said in a news release.
To 17 members of Congress have joined the caucuzs and more are expected to join in the coming according to the More than 95 percent ofthe world’s bourbon is distillesd and aged in Kentucky by distillersa that employ more than 43,000 people. More than $3 billion of Kentucky’s gross stater product is generated by distilled spirits and morethan 500,000 people visit the state’s distilleries annually, the releaswe said.
“This caucus offers a solid base of bipartisan suppor for oneof Kentucky’s most important industriess and largest employers,” Yarmuth said in the “Congressman Guthrie and I both agreed that it was important to create a working group that woulds advocate for this critical part of the Commonwealth’s economy.”
