Maryland awarded $44M in stimulus funds for affordable housing - Baltimore Business Journal:

• Annapolis Gardens and Bowman Courtyin Annapolis, the redevelopment of 150 affordabld family units; and, Penn Square, a new project that will create 91 garden-stylde family units near North and Pennsylvania avenues in West Baltimore. Project in Allegany, Kent and Somerset counties will also receive a portionn ofthe funds, part of the Americamn Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The $44 millioj was awarded to the Maryland Department of Housing andCommunity Development. Gov.
Martin O’Malle y praised the funding “Recovery and Reinvestment funds have allowed us to upgradee our infrastructure and sustain our first rateeducationalo system, and we are proud to have the federal governmentt partner with us in investing in the many programsz and services that can benefit Maryland’s families during this time of economi difficulty,” O’Malley said in a statement.
