Investors plan to reopen Five Points Music Hall - Birmingham Business Journal:

Jeff Manns, member of the Birmingham-based band U.S. and operatod of several music clubsin Jackson, said he and a group of othersa will reopen the club in about a montnh to its former glory. The site in Five Point s South was home to a formert music club with the same name that featuresd local and national acts and later home toBananz Joe’s, which closed last year after publidc outcry over a late-night shooting in the parking lot. Manns said securitt concerns will be addressed with additionakl security staff andthe club’s only entrancwe will be through the front on 20th Streetg South, not in the back.
After minofr renovations, he said, Five Pointa South’s newest addition will featurew a live music venue for a variety of including country, rock and jazz and an oysterr pub. Manns said plans call for the pub to frontr 20th Street and be open seven days a while the live music venue will be open only when acts are Last week, the Birmingham City Council approved the club’s liquor license. And as the granr opening act for the Five Points Music Mannssaid he’s currently workingy on nabbing saxophonist Davir Sanborn.
