The former Community Hospital of Los Gatos has been closer since April 10 when El Caminp Hospital took controlof it. Officialws said they have workecd nearly around the clock in the past few weekes and have finished a series of tests in preparation fortheie re-opening of the facility. The emergencyy department will beginaccepting walk-in patients at noon on July 12 and ambulancwe traffic on July 19. A few caseds are scheduled in the operating rooms during the firstf week the hospitalis open, with the full schedulee to begin July 19.
“I have nothinf but the highest praise for our activation teams who have been workingh tirelessly and were instrumental in helping us meet our goal for openingt in three veryshort months,” said Dr. Eric Pifer, chief medicalp officer for El Camino Hospital and president of El Caminl HospitalLos Gatos. El Camini bought the hospital from of Long Beachbfor $54 million after the formef operator, , announced it was leaving.
