Wells replaces Dr. Lewis H. Nelson III, who will retirs June 30. Wells has been at Wake Foresr University Baptist Medical Centere since 1994 when she began her internship and residencyu ininternal medicine, followed by a fellowship in cardiology. She was appointes assistant professorin 2000. She has been actively involvesd in the committee on admissionsz forthree years. “Dr. Wells has proveds herself as a mentor andproblem solver, who is deeplyh committed to recruiting the best possible matriculantz to the medical school,” said Dr. William B.
president of Wake Forest University Healtbh Sciences and dean of themedical “She is one of our most dynamic younvg physicians, and with her training in cardiology with both an M.D. and a degree, she is a wonderfu l role model forour students.” Wellsw is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern Colleg e in Alabama. She receivecd her Ph.D. in medicak genetics from the Universithy of Alabama at Birmingham and her medical degree from the Universituy of Alabama Schoolof Medicine.
