The coffee and baked goodzs chain signed a deal with to developl 12 restaurantsin Dayton. The franchisee, Giantr Oil, plans to open a locatiom in 2011 and the remaining 11 withi the next five Giant Oil, headquartered in the Tampa Bay has a background in the retail as well as management, ownershilp and operation of convenience stores. Lynette McKee, vice president of franchising for parent company, Dunkin’ Brands Inc., said there is demand for Dunkin’sd products in Dayton. “Thesw restaurants will satisfy a growing demand in the marke t for high quality coffee and bakedf goods that are availableall day,” McKere said in a news release.
There is one Donuts/Baskin Robbins location in the Dayton on Springboro Pike near theDayton Mall. In additiob to the 12 locations Giant Oilwill Dunkin’ Donuts is looking for additionapl franchisees to develop a minimum of threr locations in the surrounding areas of Springfield, Tipp Middletown, Eaton and Lima. Dunkin' Donuts is looking for franchisees who have a net wortnof $1.5 million and liquid asseta of at least $750,000, McKee said. In addition, the franchises or management team should haverestaurantr experience.
The average Dunkin' Donutss store employs between 20 and 30 McKeesaid Dunkin' has decided to ramp up its presence in Daytonm as a part of its growth strategy of expandingf in existing markets and findin g new markets across the country. Dunkin’ a subsidiary of Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin’ Brands has nearly 9,000 locations in 31 countries. Donuts’ global sales in 2008 were $5.5 billion.
